Volunteer!
There are several ways to fulfill your volunteer hours! In addition to the opportunities listed below, you are encouraged to ask your child’s teacher for classroom related opportunities. Plus volunteers are always welcome for special school activates such as picture day, feast days, and other events. Please remember to keep track of your hours in the Volunteer Log binder located at the front desk. If you have any questions please email: anchorage.montessori@acsalaska.net or call 276-2240.

Description: The school is in need of 40 carabiners to be donated by parent volunteers.
Description: We need a parent volunteer to make benches for outside on the playground. Please see the front desk for more details.
Description: We need a parent volunteer to set-up refreshments for the Love & Logic Parent Discussion group; AMS will be providing the refreshments. We will also need a volunteer to help clean-up after the group is over. The Love & Logic meetings are every Thursday at 12:30 pm, starting on September 9, 2010. Please ask the front desk for more information.
Description: We have several Montessori materials to purchase for each classroom. If you would like to donate the cost of a material needed in your child’s classroom, the school will gladly order the item. Please see the front desk for a list of the materials needed!
Description: We need a parent volunteer to purchase and install blinds for two windows near the front entry area. Please ask the front desk for more information.
Description: A parent is in the process of transforming the circles in the parking lot into beautiful rock gardens. We need several medium sized stones to complete the project. We would love the children to find stones and place them in the rock garden areas.
Description: We need parent volunteers to help organize our sheds! This will require the purchase of brackets and wood for the shelves. Once installed, we would like a parent to organize the shed contents.
Description: Our Spanish teacher is in need of a utility cart (small) if you have one that you would like to donate.

Description: We always have volunteer opportunities for families to take items to the recycling center!
Description: We need a parent volunteer to replace light bulbs around the school. If you have some time, this is a great opportunity to bring some light to the school!
Description: We are in need of parent volunteers ASAP to build 34 shelves for our classrooms before the start of our 2009-2010 School Year.
There are a several ways you can help:
Donate $700.00 for all materials
Donate $100.00 for 5 Volunteer Hours
Donate $50.00 for 2 1/2 Volunteer Hours
We need a parent volunteer to go to Lowe's and purchase the wood. Lowe's will cut the wood to the measurement that we need. The wood will need to be brought to AMS to be sanded, stained and polyurethane. Then the shelves will need to be put together and placed in each classroom.
